Anderson tosses no-hitter for Conestoga

Mark Anderson tossed a no-hitter as Conestoga routed Lower Merion, 10-0, in five innings in the Cen- tral League baseball contest Monday.

Anderson walked one and struck out six.

Tim Miller homered, went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs. Angus Mayock added three hits and Tom Fogarty had two RBIs. for West. CONESTOGA 16, LOWER MERION 0, 4 INNINGS >> Faith Walker threw a one-hitter as the Pioneers (8-4, 9-6) rolled to the Central League victory. Emily Conaway had three hits and three RBIs. Callie Sturgeon went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. seventh inning to give the Red Devils (13-2) the ChesMont National win. Maggie Balit allowed six hits with nine strikeouts for the win. Conference’s four major awards Monday morning as she was named the 2016 CSAC Player of the Year.

Bartow was joined on the First Team All-CSAC by senior second baseman Melissa Ejk, while sophomore catcher Paige Hughes was honorable mention AllCSAC. Sophomore outfielder Paige Murphy was honored on the CSAC All-Sportsmans­hip Team.

Bartow is currently sixth in NCAA Division III in batting average (.509), second in doubles per game, 10th in on-base percentage (.557), and second in slugging percentage (.981). Ejk is hitting .424 this season, and is second on the squad with 14 doubles and 33 runs scored.

Men’s Golf

NCAA REGIONAL >> Drew Patterson shot a 75 and Tyler Maiman carded a 77 to lead West Chester at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional. West Chester shot a 311 as a team. Patterson posted three birdies, a team high, to pace his 75 on the Timber Creek Golf Course that was a par-72 and played to 6,739 yards. He finished the day three-over par. Maiman recorded 12 pars on the 18 holes en route to his fiveover, 77.

Connor Sharp registered a pair of birdies and signed for a 78 on his first tour around the course in just outside of Syracuse, N.Y. Senior Corey Smith shot an 81.
