Edward Lindsay McCausland, Jr., 79, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the home of his youngest daughter. He was the beloved husband of Theresa J. McCausland, nee Ippolito, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesvill­e, he was the son of the late Edward Lindsay McCausland, Sr. and Mary E. McCausland, nee Powell.

Eddie was raised in the hamlet known as “Corner Ketch” just east of Guthriesvi­lle in East Brandywine Township.

He attended the Bondsville School, was a 1954 graduate of Downingtow­n High School, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Ed was a lifelong resident of Downingtow­n, a member of St. Anthony’s Lodge, and a frequent patron of the Coffee Cup. He was dearly loved by his family and was well-respected by his many friends and peers and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his daughters, Tracey (Michael) Currie and Melanie McCausland (Rob Tochterman); son, Matt (Yanique) McCausland; sister, Peggy Sloane; brother, James McCausland; and 6 grandchild­ren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtow­n, where family and friends may call from 9:3010:45 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in his name to Neighborho­od Hospice of West Chester, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
