Linebacker suspected in assault
PHILADELPHIA >> Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham turned himself in to authorities in Miami Beach Monday and charged on suspicion of battery/aggravated assault, per NFL.com.
The 6-2, 241-pound Bradham reportedly was among a group of six people who argued with a hotel worker about an umbrella they paid for, the confrontation turning physical, according to NBC 10 in Miami.
Bradham paid for the umbrella with a credit card and a phone was found at the scene, according to reports.
Bradham is scheduled to report to training camp with the rest of the Eagles’ veterans Wednesday. The team has a meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. which Bradham is expected to attend, per an NFL source.
The Eagles had no comment other than a statement:
“We are aware of the recent incident involving Nigel Bradham in Miami. We have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities. Due to the ongoing legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
It’s the second time over the offseason an Eagles player has had a brush with authorities. In May wide receiver Nelson Agholor was accused of assaulting a dancer at a strip club, although the Philadelphia district attorney’s office decided there wasn’t enough evidence to bring charges.
