Joseph W. Zaber of West Chester
Joseph W. Zaber passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 88.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loretta Kayes Zaber.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Mark Joseph Zaber and daughter, Mary Beth Zaber-Butterworth; brother, Bernard Zaber; grandchildren, Adam Zaber, Melissa Brand, Christopher Butterworth, Ashley Butterworth and 3 great grandchildren, Emma, Riley and Jack Brand.
Born July 4, 1928 in Shenandoah, PA, he was the son of the late Walter Zaber and the late Anna Gruca Zaber.
He was a graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School and earned an Aeronautical Engineering degree from Northrop University.
Joseph worked as an Environmental Engineer, directing industrial and municipal projects at Delcora in Chester, PA, before retiring.
He was a member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester.
Joseph served as Chairman of the West Chester Water Authority and volunteered at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester. He was a devoted family man who loved aviation and boating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 8:30am -9:30am at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380; 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19380.
Interment will be private.
