Richard O. Piatt of West Chester

Richard O. Piatt, 84 of West Chester, PA died Monday, October 3, 2016 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Mary E. Keiper Piatt.

Born April 18, 1932 in Bethlehem Township, PA, he was the son of the late Ira Adam Piatt, Sr. and the late Alta Stackhouse Piatt.

Richard worked as an Insurance Agent with Prudential for 23 years.

Known as the Piatt Family Genealogist, he had a great love for Genealogy and was a member of many genealogy societies. He enjoyed hunting, and spending winters in Florida for the past 27 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Cynthia S. Piatt, Cylvia A. Ultz (Larry), Diana L. Piatt (Bee Smith), Lori L. Uhl (R. Scott), and Beth Anne Black (Phillip); siblings, Ira A. Piatt, Jr., Arthur T. Piatt, Robert E. Piatt, Joan E. Saeger, and May L. Finken; grandchildren, Bradley S. Uhl (Amanda), Ellyn M. Ultz, Aubree E. (Uhl) Smith (Dan), Jason C. Black, and Sean P. Black; great grandchildren, Atha J. Uhl and Everett S. Uhl.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronald D. Piatt, Helen D. Bond, and Shirley E. Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N. Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-6961181, www.Dellafh.com; followed by his Memorial Service at 7:00 pm.

Interment will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:30am at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Easton, PA 18045.
