Rosalind C. ‘Rosie’ Graveno of Downingtown
1940-2016
Rosalind C. “Rosie” Graveno, 76, of Downingtown, passed away on October 14, 2016 at Paoli Hospital.
Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Margaret (nee Muzii) Graveno.
A graduate of Downingtown High School, Rosie went on to open her own salon, Le Chalet of Style, in August of 1985, in Downingtown. Born and raised in the area, it was difficult to find anyone who didn’t know Rosie; her dedicated clientele stayed with her during the 30 years she served the area. Prior to opening her own business, she was a teacher at Bryland School of Beauty in Coatesville and manager of Hair LTD.
Rosie was a member of St. Anthony Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and a life-long member of St. Joseph parish, serving as captain of the bake sale booth at St. Joseph Festival for the past 8 years.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Susan) Graveno of Allentown; brothers Adam (Ruth Ann) Graveno of Franklin, TN and John (Traute) of Virginia Beach, VA and three grandchildren; Evan, Molly and Emily Graveno.
A memorial mass will take place Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 8:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.. Inurnment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery will be private.
