Anna Louise Wert of Malvern
1916-2016
Born November 26, 1916, Anna Louise Wert, (nee McLarren) went home to be with her Lord on the evening of November 14, 2016, just 12 days short of her 100th birthday.
Anna was one of four children born to Ruth and Samuel McLarren in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen E. McLarren, and a brother, Edwin Parker McLarren. Her sister, Virginia, now lives in Texas.
After high school graduation in Absecon, NJ, Anna worked until she married Clifton R. Wert. They had two children, Barbara A. (Wert) Leschinskey and Robert C. Wert. Anna’s husband, Clifton, passed away in January 1979. Anna is survived by her son and daughter as well as six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Anna died peacefully at home in Malvern, Pennsylvania where she had lived with her son, Robert, and family since 1980 where she was a “second mother” to his four children. She loved to bake, making cookies and pies for her family. She often sent care packages to her grandchildren when away at college making her a “favorite” of the dorm mates. She imparted wisdom, was devoted to prayer, and was always ready for a hug, a laugh, or to listen.
She was a member and Deacon of Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern. She was active in the Missionary Society of the church. Known as a dedicated “prayer warrior”, Anna maintained a constant prayer life for her family and those facing difficulties and in need of God’s blessings.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet family at Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Monument Avenue, Malvern, PA 19355 on Saturday, November 19th, at 10:00 a.m. Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Whitemarsh Memorial Park follows the service.
