Ashley Barron of Coatesville, a senior student in the respiratory care program jointly sponsored by Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) & West Penn Hospital (WPH) in Pittsburgh, has been selected as the program’s Pennsylvania Society of Respiratory Care (PSRC) Outstanding Student of the Year.
Each year, one student from each accredited Respiratory Therapy school in Pennsylvania is selected as the student who demonstrates: quality academic and clinical performance, leadership, initiative, commitment to the profession and is most likely to make a positive impact on the profession. The award was presented to Barron at the PSRC Southwest District seminar at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel & Conference Center in Cranberry, PA on Sept. 29.
As the Outstanding Student award winner, Barron received a paid conference registration fee, an award certificate and a one year membership renewal for the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).
