Tori Barretta score four goals as Downingtow­n East made a halftime lead stand up to net an 9-7 nonleague girls lacrosse victory over Villa Maria on Saturday.

The Cougars (1-2) notched their first win of the season as Emily Wurzel had three goals. Emily Robinson made seven seven saves.

Audrey Fantazzia paced the Hurricanes (21) with three goals.

W.C. HENDERSON 16,

PENNCREST 6 >> Jordyn Bauer poured in seven goals to lead the Warriors to the nonleague victory. Lilly Siskind added four goals and Olivia Cotellesse had a pair.

GREAT VALLEY 13, WISSAHICKO­N 8 >> Natalie Kahn had four goals to help power the Patriots to the nonleague victory. Tori Rubin and Sarah Karowski notched three apiece.

WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 18,

LOWER MERION 6 >> Kylie Videon and Ashley Chisholm registered four goals each as the Golden Knights cruised to the nonleague victory. Jess Ciarocchi and Tina St. Clair had three goals apiece. Skyler Demis, Michelle Chessock, Katie Slacta and Amanda Harkins contribute­d a goal each. Maddie Montebi- anco and Sheena Grady combined for eight saves.

GROVE 8, OT >> Joey Borky scored twice as the Red Devils jumped out to a first-quarter lead, but lost the nonleague game in overtime.

DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 13,

BOYERTOWN 1 >> Brian Miller had four goals and an assist and Jack Mulcahy added three goals as the Cougars rolled to the nonleague victory. Jason Reynolds, Zach Lee, Jake Wetzel and Danny Zahniser were part of a strong defensive effort that kept Boyertown off the board until the fourth quarter.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 13, UNIONVILLE 10 >> Will Ciccarelli had three goals as the Indians fell in the nonleague contest. Zach Lawrence, Jack Hoopman and JT Hower added two goals each. HAVERFORD HIGH 9, WEST

CHESTER RUSTIN 2 >> Mike Burke and Will Pileggi scored and Tim Durant made nine saves for the Golden Knights in the nonleague defeat. Tim Durant notched a pair of assists.

HUNTERDON 8 >> Tommy Sopko netted five goals as the Pioneers subdued the team from New Jersey. Tate Kienzle, Henry Berg and Hunter Gregory scored twice each.

W.C. HENDERSON 13, CARDINAL O’HARA 3 >> Archer Rymiszewsk­i, Nick Mascetti and Brandon Moyer tallied three goals each as the Warriors cruised to the nonleagu victory. Rymiszewsk­i and Mascetti had three assists each.

Boys Track

BRUCE DALLAS INVITATION­AL >> Coatesvill­e finished 1-2 in the 200-meters to highlight the meet at Cumberland Valley. Terrance Laird won the event in 22.43, beating out Eric Kirk in 22.98. The 4x100 team featuring Jayland Washington, Eric Kirk, Aaron Young and Laird finished first in a meet record time of 42.9. Bill Anachuna was fifth in the triple jump and Aaron Young was sixth in the javelin.

HAVERFORD INVITATAIO­NAL >> In the meet at Haverford High, Julian Klenner of Westtown was second in the 400 at 50.0. Brett Zatlin of Great Valley was fourth in the 800, followed by Daniel Brennan of West Chester East in sixth. Matthew Clark of West Chester East finished fourth in the 3200. Klenner won the high jump in a meet-tying effort of 6-4. Great Valley’s Luke Lasure took the pole vault at 12-0.

Girls Track

BRUCE DALLAS INVITATION­AL >> Coatesvill­e fashioned a pair of secondplac­e finishes at Cumberland Valley. Porsha Miles was runner-up in the 400 and Brooke Hutton was second in the 3200. Darby Morgan placed third in the shot put and Arianna Eberly tied for third in the high jump.

HAVERFORD INVITATAIO­NAL >> In the meet at Haverford High, Downingtow­n East’s Serena Jennings finished fifth in the 200 and Caroline Roumpz was second in the 400. Maddy VanBlunk was second in the 1600, just ahead of West Chester East’s Mikayla Lewis, Freshman Allyson Clarke set a meet record in winning the 3200 in 11:20.52. Evelyn Berecz was second in the triple jump for the Cougars. Morgan Monteith of Villa Maria captured the discus with an effort of 113-8.

College Baseball

WEST CHESTER 1, EAST STROUDSBUR­G 0; EAST STROUDSBUR­G 6, WEST CHESTER 5 >> West Chester split a doublehead­er against host Shippensbu­rg. The Golden Rams (13-4, 5-1 PSAC) won the first game in a pitcher’s duel 1-0, while Shippensbu­rg (8-12-1, 3-3 PSAC) captured game two by scoring four runs in the fifth to earn a 6-5 victory. Jon Fisher tossed a five hit, complete-game shutout against Shippensbu­rg to start the day. The sophomore went seven strong innings while fanning seven batters and only allowing one walk. The team only compiled a pair of hits, but it resulted in the lone run of the game. Crossing the plate for the only run was Nick Ward. In the nightcap, West Chester’s Jared Melone was a force to be reckoned with at the plate by knocking his first and second home runs of the season.

Men’s Lacrosse

IMMACULATA 11, ROSEMONT

6>> Immaculata (3-5, 2-0 CSAC) won its third consecutiv­e game as it defeated Rosemont College (3-7, 0-2 CSAC). The Ravens opened the scoring with 13 minutes left in the first quarter when Purnell Summers scored to stake the Ravens to an early one-goal advantage. The Mighty Macs scored just over four minutes later when Tyler Black scored to tie the score at 1-1. Immaculata scored again six minutes later when Jake Kemble scored after scooping up one of his seven ground balls of the afternoon to give the Mighty Macs a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Doug Hughes ended his day with four goals and one assist, while Reardon and Black each scored three goals to help the Immaculata cause. The three goals for Reardon allowed him to tie Bhelly Bagbonon for third all-time in goals, and Black’s three goals tied him with Ben Tuscai for sixth.

Men’s Golf

ROSEMONT INVITATION­AL

>> Immaculata’s golf team officially played its first round of the spring at the Rosemont Raven Invitation­al held at Downingtow­n Country Club with a round of 329. The Mighty Macs stand in sixth place overall after the first day of competitio­n. Anthony Spatacco led the Mighty Macs on Saturday with a round of 79 to finish in a tie of 14th. Jay Spatacco was one shot back with a round of 80, which tied him for 18th. Patrick Zeoli signed for a round of 83, tying for 31st, and Stephen McEntee carded an 87 during the first round putting him in a tie for 53rd. Daniel Roche made his collegiate debut for the Mighty Macs with a 122.
