Alice S. (nee Schwartz) Cooke of Hershey’s Mill, West Chester

Alice S. (nee Schwartz) Cooke, 83, died peacefully at home early Wednesday, May 31, 2017. She was the wife of the late Samuel J. Cooke, Esq.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, on September 23, 1933, she was the daughter of late Louis and Minerva (nee Wilder) Schwartz. She grew up in Bryn Mawr, and graduated from the Baldwin School and Mt. Holyoke College.

She worked at Mesirov Gelman Jaffe Cramer and Jamieson for more than 20 years, specializi­ng in pension and profit sharing plan developmen­t.

Alice is survived by her son Michael (Debi) Wolf, daughter Allison Wolf (Betsy Berger), brother David Schwartz (Monica Bradley), five grandchild­ren; Jarrett Hunt (Renee), Jenna Lindinger, Jacob, Matthew and Andrew Wolf, and two great-grandchild­ren; James and Juliette Hunt.

Alice loved to travel, was an exceptiona­l knitter, a voracious reader of books and newspapers. She was a devoted dog owner, and lover of the arts. She especially enjoyed fine dining and discussing politics and history.

Relatives and friends are invited to Shiva at her home on Sunday, June 4th from 3:30-5:30pm with Minyan Service at 4 pm and on Monday, June 5th and Tuesday, June 6th from 6:30-9pm.

A memorial service will be held on a later date.
