Chesco Pops plan summer concerts

- Staff Report

The Chesco Pops Orchestra, under the direction of Joseph Gehring, will perform its summer concert American Celebration, at Immaculata University’s Alumnae Hall Theatre, 1145 West King Road, Immaculata on July 29, at 7 p.m.; and at Phoenixville Area Middle School, 1330 Main Street, Phoenixville, on July 30, at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are: Adult $20, Senior (60+) $15, Children and students admitted free.

This concert will pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve our country, in all branches of the Armed Forces. In addition, you’ll hear music from Victory at Sea and the Broadway musical Oklahoma, as well as John Williams’ classic Cowboys Overture and March from “1941.” These performances will feature high school instrumental students from around Chester County, playing on stage side by side with Chesco Pops members. Then, the program will be topped off with an audience patriotic sing-along (not to worry – words will be provided in the program). So, you’d better wear your red-white-and-blue, and come in good voice!

Sixty-five of Chester County’s finest instrumental players are brought together for every Chesco Pops concert. And thanks to the support of sponsors, advertisers and donors, and an ever-growing fan base, Maestro Gehring Maestro continues to expand the Orchestra’s music outreach throughout the communities the Chesco Pops serves in and beyond Chester County.

Make sure you get out to one of these performances to support the Chesco Pops, and to celebrate with them, your country and its proud defenders.
