No. 1 Bishop Shanahan knocks off No. 3 Emmaus
In a showdown between two of the top three girls volleyball teams in the state, Bishop Shanahan withstood a rally from Emmaus to eke out a 3-2 nonleague victory Friday.
The top-ranked Eagles improved to 16-0 with the 25-11, 25-16, 19-25, 19-25, 15-8.
Renee Shults paced Shanahan with nine kills, 37 assists, 13 digs and four aces.
Jules Gallagher notched 40 digs, Tess Elder recorded 15 kills and five blocks and Julie Thomas added seven kills and five blocks.
WEST CHESTER EAST 3, RADNOR1» Evie Virgilio had 10 kills as the Vikings won the nonleague matchup, 16-25. 25-16. 26-24. 25-20. Ryleigh Griffin had 40 assists and Taylor Crawford had 26 digs.
WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 3, ACADEMY PARK 0 » Fiona Pyfer recorded 13 kills to lead the Warriors (13-6) to the nonleague victory, 2513, 25-17, 25-22. Taylor Dale dished out 27 assists and Amnda Ball had eight digs.

CHES-MONT NATIONAL DOUBLES » Nicole Dickson and Grace Yatcilla of Downingtown East was the only unseeded team to reach the semifinals of the Ches-Mont National Division doubles tournament.
The Cougars booked their spot by knocking of Sammy Roberts and Maddie Minio in three sets, winning the last two sets after dropping the first one. They will meet Holly Koons and Lilly Shi of Downingtown West.
Top seeds Amanda Nguyen and Maddie Russel of West Chester East defeated Joy Shi and Divya Kalmady in straight sets. The two will face Hannah Baxter and Jessica Liu of West Chester Henderson in the semis.

WEST CHESTER 1, GANNON 0» The Golden Rams (92-1, 9-2-0) scored early in the first half to capture the PSAC matchup with Gannon. Kaitlyn McFadden slipped in a rebound by Madison Baxter in the fourth minute. McKenzie Mullin collected three saves in the shutout.

Jason Pixley scored the game’s only goal with than 20 minutes to play in the second half. Matt Palmer recorded his fifth shutout of the season, making three saves.
