Reward offered for info about homicide
SOUTH COATESVILLE » A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in a recent homicide.
South Coatesville police and the Chester County Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sept. 30 at approximately 2:22 a.m. in public following a verbal disagreement.
Police responded to a report of a shooting and found a victim, identified as Victor Wilson Jr., 40, of Coatesville, had been shot and was unresponsive on the sidewalk in front of the Malibu Club. Investigators said that Wilson and an unidentified suspect were reportedly in an altercation that resulted in Wilson being shot numerous times. He died later that day of his injuries.
Witnesses told police that the victim and the unknown suspect got into a verbal altercation inside of the Malibu Club and the altercation continued outside the club at 602 South First Avenue. The suspect reportedly produced a firearm and allegedly shot the unarmed victim, according to police. Witnesses said the suspect then fled on foot down the hill on Gibbons Avenue. Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers are offering a $5,000 reward for information about the homicide.
Wilson, originally of Kennett Square, moved with his family to Coatesville. Wilson, a father, was a Coatesville Area High School graduate and he worked as a produce manager for the Acme Markets in Downingtown. He attended the Trinity United Bible Church in Coatesville where he sang with the choir, according to his obituary.
The murder is being investigated by the Chester County Detective Bureau and the South Coatesville Police Department. Investigators ask that anyone with information contact the Chester County Detectives at 610344-6866.
