Work2Gether offers office space for businesses, entrepreneurs
DOWNINGTOWN » Nick Winkler’s desire for office space where he could create and also interact with professionals led to the opening of one of the borough’s newest businesses, Work2gether.
“I was working out of my home with my three children,” Winkler said. “I enjoyed being near my family but it wasn’t a work environment. I also needed to interact with working professionals. I figured if I needed this type of work space so would others in the community. I knew I wasn’t an audience of one.”
After sharing space for a period of time in a Downingtown warehouse with printer Mike Schnitzius, Nick and his wife Melinda began researching independent working spaces; even touring international facilities. “This isn’t a new concept,” said Melinda, who is community manager for Work2gether. “Each one was different and has a unique personality. We took ideas from the various workplaces and incorporated them into our model that we think best fits Downingtown.”
Early in 2017 the couple began renovating the space at 107 East Lancaster Avenue. “I can’t believe I’m standing here with the business operating in October,” Nick said. “The whole business came together quickly. Of course I was impatient once we started construction.”
Work2gether is a modern industrial co-working space offering flexible and affordable memberships for businesses and entrepreneurs seeking a built-in network of essential business services, amenities and most importantly, people.
“We offer private offices,” Nick said. “Mike took one of the offices. He was evolving his printing business and our model worked perfectly for what he was looking to do. We only have two additional offices available.”
Work2gether offers several different plans, including the renting of the offices. The On-Demand option is a pay-as-you-go plan where workspace and conference room can be used as needed. The option is great for individuals, freelancers, business travelers and those who need the space for less than a week per month. The Flex option offers guaranteed workspace in the company’s common area. Flex is best for remote and part-time workers, a place for client meetings and those working more than a week per month. Dedicated membership gives a private desk and the member will be in the same spot each day. Dedicated is perfect for remote workers and independent business owners that are looking for everyday use.
All of the company’s options and pricing plans can be found at www.work2gether.co. The company’s address is 107 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. The telephone number is 484-364-3001.
“Even though those working here might not be from the same industry, they interact with each other and are finding help in solving issues,” Winkler said. “We make it easy to connect with other members of the community. We have an online network where members can communicate with each other, search for skills and also promote their services. And, when they need a change of pace we have a lounge area, shuffleboard or they can grab a free cup of coffee.”
“Ultimately,” Melinda said, “we aren’t simply offering a workspace; we are building a community.”
Winkler promotes his business by saying Work2gether has the atmosphere and flexibility of a coffeehouse without the noise, distractions, and unprofessionalism. His business has
the privacy and resources of a corporate office without the stuffiness and monotony. And, he says, the business has the comfort of working from home minus the isolation.
Work2gether is open for business and interested people are encouraged to stop by and view the work space. “We already have a number of people working here and adding more members each week,” he added. Work2gether is open for tours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Work2gether will be open for visitation during the grand opening/openhouse on Saturday, Nov. 18 and during the Downingtown Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 9, beginning at 2 p.m.
