Youth learn a new skill and help a neighbor in need

- Staff Report

WEST CHESTER » With a leaky roof and limited resources, a Jennersville single mom was in desperate need. A damaged roof can lead to mold, structural damage, wasted energy and increased utility bills. Even worse, there’s the possibility of water sparking a fire among exposed wiring in an attic.

That’s why Good Neighbors Home Repair recognized these repairs needed to be completed before there was any further damage to her mobile home.

As part of Good Neighbor’s Annual Youth Camp, students learn hands-on skills they can immediately use to help their neighbors. As part of the camp, a team

of teens and adults from Grace Fellowship Church repaired the roof in two days, at no cost to the homeowner. The family now has a warm, safe, and dry home for the coming winter months.

Let’s face it: No one wants to go running for a drip bucket every time it rains. That’s why your donation is important to helping to repair roofs, keeping our neighbors warm, safe and dry this winter.

Visit GivetoShare theWarmth.org or mail your check payable to United Way of Chester County to 495 Thomas Jones Way, Suite 302, Exton, PA 19341. Please indicate “Share the Warmth” in the memo line of your check, and be sure to indicate if you wish for your donation to remain anonymous.
