Barbara Ann Cassel, formerly of West Chester, PA

Barbara Ann Cassel, age 82, formerly of West Chester, PA, but most recently of Frederick, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Frederick Living, with her son by her side.

Born on February 9, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of W. Curtis and Winona (Brown) Redd and was a graduate of University City High School, University City, MO. She worked as a secretary for the West Chester Area School District before retiring and was also an active member of the Paoli United Methodist Church. She was a past President of Chapter A.U., P.E.O., a women’s philanthropic organization.

She is survived by Daughter, Marsha Lynn Cassel of Rutland, VT; Son, Mark E. Cassel of Collegeville, PA; and her Grandson, Zachary Krasner of New York, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Friends will be received from 10:00 am 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, P.E.O. Executive Office, Treasurer’s Department, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312. (This is a program for financial assistance for women whose education has been interrupted and find it necessary to return to school to support their families.)
