Secret Santa pays it forward for holidays

PHOENIXVILLE » A handful of area residents saw a little more green this holiday season thanks to police and a secret Santa.
For the second year in a row, Phoenixville Police helped out a local resident who wanted to anonymously do some good for the holiday. The “secret Santa” provided police with five $100 bills that they were able to hand out to someone in need this season.
“I love this program and being able to give $100 to someone really emphasizes the sentiment of the holiday season,” said Phoenixville Police Chief Thomas Sjostrom.
Sjostrom started the program on Tuesday, when he personally handed out a bill to one Spring City resident. Other officers continued with Sgt. David Gold handing out a bill to another recipient from Phoenixville on Wednesday. Sgt. Robert Sutton and Officer Anthony Duchnosky teamed up and were tasked with handing out three more $100 bills on Friday.
The recipients were Vincent F., of Philadelphia, Tiler R., of Phoenixville, Tabatha K. of Spring City, Heather W. of Phoenixville and Natasha M., of Spring City.
