Julia Manetta Laurento of Downingtown, PA

Julia Manetta Laurento, 95, of Downingtown, PA entered into eternal peace on December 21 2017, at Golden Living, Tarboro, North Carolina. Her death was on the day of her seventy-third anniversary of her marriage to Nicholas Laurento.

Julia was born in Tossicia, Italy, on February 26, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Francesco and Marietta DiGiorlomo Manetta. As a young child, Julia and her family left Italy and traveled by ship to New York. Within a short time, the family relocated to the Downingtown area. Julia had a deep love of this country as well as her family, many of whom served in our military.

On December 21, 1944, Julia married Nicholas J. Laurento and eventually settled in Coatesville. During almost fifty years of marriage, Julia spent the majority of her time raising her two children, Louis and Robert Laurento. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Upon, the death of her husband, Julia resided at Black Hawk Apartments in Downingtown. In recent years, she lived in North Carolina near her son, Louis.

Julia was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking. Many friends and family enjoyed her traditional meals, cookies and treats. Julia greeted everyone with a warm smile. She enjoyed the outdoors and taking long walks throughout the neighborhood. She will be remembered for her kind and loving manner as well as her positive attitude towards life.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas J. Laurento; her sisters Theresa Capriotti and Elsie Pilotti; and her brothers Joe and Pip Manetta. She is survived by a brother Frank Manetta and wife, Roseann; her sons, Robert J Laurento; Louis M Laurento and wife, Judith, as well as an extended family of godchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will gather for a private service.
