Helicopter candy drop coming to Coatesville
COATESVILLE » Few things are sweeter than free candy dropping from the sky! And that’s exactly what will happen at the Freedom Life Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 31 at Ash Park. The community is invited to attend this free event from 10 a.m. until noon.
Families will eagerly await the arrival of a helicopter that will fly overhead and drop thousands of pieces of candy to the ground. On cue, children ages 12 and under will be released to gather as many treats as they are able to stuff into their bags.
“I can’t wait!” exclaimed Lead FL Kids Director Gina Turk. “I’ve been part of our Easter events for years and I’m most excited about this one because I can only imagine the looks on the kids’ faces when they see the candy falling from the helicopter. I want each of them to be in awe and then experience the same awe when they learn that the God of the great, big universe knows them by name and loves each of them so much.”

Before and after the helicopter arrives, teams from Freedom Life Church will offer stations of games and activities that include face painting, a photo booth, crafts and dancing. Light refreshments will be available as well.
New this year, Freedom Life will offer three Easter Eggstravaganzas simultaneously in the communities where their campuses meet on Sundays. The Easter Eggstravaganzas will take place at Ash Park, 300 Kersey Street, Coatesville; Minch Park, 400 West Street, Parkesburg; and SECA Park, 299 Park Ave, Quarryville. Every park will experience a helicopter candy drop.
