We-Go Rotary plans special event April 19
WEST CHESTER » The Rotary Club of Westtown-Goshen will celebrate several major achievements with a dinner meeting on Thursday, April 19, which is the 150th birthday of Rotary International’s founder, Paul Harris.
We-Go, as the club is more informally known, is a service club that does many community service projects.
Locally We-Go has built batting cages for the Little League, hosted annual Duck Races and Souper-Bowl events to raise funds for stamping out hunger locally as well as internationally through Rise Against Hunger and two local food banks. Currently the club is working with the West Chester Area School District to stop distracted driving by introducing the ROADD (Rotarians Against Distracted Driving) program in the local middle schools. The club has hosted and sent out countless students to study abroad through the Youth Exchange Program. Some other recent projects include: tree plantings at several locations, a literacy program, sponsoring students for leadership by attending RYLA, and working internationally in Guyana, India, and Brazil.
At the event, the club will be inducting several new Paul Harris Fellows.
