Avon Grove drops Rustin to stay unbeaten

The Avon Grove boys’ lacrosse squad remained unbeaten with a 9-4 ChesMont league triumph over host West Chester Rustin on Monday. The Red Devils led 4-2 at the half, but went on to outscore the Golden Knights 5-2 in the second half. Joey Borcky and Stefan Evans led the way with two goals each for Avon Grove, and Mike Russo chipped in with two assists. DOWNINGTOWN WEST 10, HATBORO-HORSHAM 8 » The Whippets notched their third straight win in a non-league contest. Jameson Smyth led the way with four goals and two assists, and Nick Verano added three goals for West, Shea Dougherty chipped in two goals and Nick Sicillia won 70 percent of his face off attempts.

Maddie Reuther added two goals and goalie Taylor Turner made eight saves for Henderson. VILLA MARIA 14, NAZARETH ACADEMY 1 » Nine different players scored goals for the Hurricanes in an AACA win.

Margie Carden, Hannah Young, Bridget Finley, Paige deMutis and Erin Finley each scored two goals for Villa Maria. Abby Walheim added a goal and two assists for the winner. BISHOP SHANAHAN 9, BOYERTOWN 7 » The Eagles raced to a 7-1 halftime lead and cruised to the non-league win.

Jess Holowsko paced Shanahan with three goals and two assists, and keeper Jess Gorr stoped eight shots. Monica Manley and Gianna DeCesaris each added two goals in the win for the Eagles.
