Art in action attracts captive audience
Main Line Art Center holds Spring Gala and Preview Party
Main Line Art Center held its Spring Gala and Preview Party, showcasing the work of area artists.
Main Line Art Center, located on Panmure Road in Haverford, recently held its Spring Gala and Preview Party, showcasing area artists of differing ages, stages and walks of life.
They’d been chosen to exhibit their latest creations at the facility. What made this endeavor a bit different than most of the shows put on at the facility was the age range of its participants.
From a young miss named Deanna Szcesny, who’d obviously gotten her “start in art” from dad Michael, to Russian-born centenarian Bernice Paul, who’s had several noted exhibits at the facility, the show was a mélange of colors and creations that captivated attendees.
Opened in the late 1940s as Bryn Mawr Art Center, Main Line Art Center is a “full service” place in which to indulge and explore all forms of art. The center teaches the public about dance, music, drama and art not only on the premises but in acts of outreach into the surrounding communities as well. By the turn of the last century, the center’s reputation as an innovative cultural entity had earned it high marks and recognition from many arenas, including Art-Reach’s Commitment to Cultural Access Award.
