Richard “Dick” Hugh Kolloff, 87, of West Chester, Pennsylvan­ia passed away Sept. 4, 2018. Born on March 11, 1931 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the husband of the late Barbara E. (Hughes) Kolloff, whom he was married to for almost 50 years.

Dick graduated from the University of Michigan in 1955, and served his country in the army during the Korean War.

He spent more than 30 years working for Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologi­es and was awarded three patents related to gas chromatogr­aphy.

Outside of work, Dick loved to sing, and spent over 50 years of his life as a bass. He sang for multiple choirs, from profession­ally on the Lutheran Hour in St. Louis to the Chester County Choral Society to most recently for Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester. He was an avid runner and ran seven Marine Corps Marathons, and loved to spend his downtime watching Philadelph­ia sports.

Dick was predecease­d by his parents, Ruth (Thatcher) Brown Kolloff and Rev. Lloyd Brown, as well as his stepfather Dr. Harold Kolloff.

He is survived by his brother Fred Kolloff and wife MaryAnn; his sister-in-law Janet Koestner and husband Paul; his son Richard M. Kolloff and wife Mary Lou; his daughter Patti (Kolloff) Bramson and husband Hank Alinger; and his daughter Susie (Kolloff) Chappell and husband Lee. He is also survived by six grandchild­ren: Kelly (Kolloff) Duell and husband Aram; Jenny (Kolloff) Mayer and husband Steve; Lindsay (Bramson) Marjoram and husband Robin; Michelle (Bramson) Braga and husband Dave; Alex Chappell and wife Julie; and Emily Chappell; as well as three great-grandchild­ren, Maddie Duell, Abby Mayer and Jack Marjoram.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 730 S. New St., West Chester. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contributi­on to the Calvary Lutheran music program.
