Green Philly presents SustainPHL Awards
Green Philly presented its 2018 awards in nine different categories at its annual SustainPHL awards ceremony, a celebration of sustainability visionaries and local heroes making a difference in their communities, Aug. 16 at WHYY in Old City.
The 2018 SustainPHL Award recipients are:
• Activist of the Year: Gabriella Paez Esperanza
• Business Innovation: Hungry Harvest
• Climate Hero: Sarah Wu, formerly of Office of Sustainability
•#FuturePHL: Patrick Morgan, Knight Foundation
• Impact Business Leader: Circle Compost
• Neighborhood Champion: Judith Robinson, Susquehanna Clean Up/ Pick Up
• Social Impact Award: Ken Weinstein
• Sustainable Communities: Bartram’s Garden
• Sustainability Mentor: Diane OFee-Powers, CookWissahickon School
“We are excited to recognize a diversity of Philadelphia’s sustainability leaders who are making changes everydaym,” SustainPHL founder said Julie Hancher. “Our third awards continued to highlight those tack-
ling climate change, innovative solutions and disruptors that would otherwise go unnoticed. It’s important to talk about Philadelphia’s accomplishments so we can continue to evolve and work towards climate solutions.”
The evening’s awards were presented by previous winners and industry executives.
