John Roy Jenkins of Coatesville
John Roy Jenkins, age 72, husband of Betty Jayne (Hughes) Williamson-Jenkins, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 25, 2018 at his home.
Born on January 18, 1946 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Baker) Jenkins. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy. John also was a 1972 graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music and did his graduate work at Catholic University, Washington D.C. Mr. Jenkins had a distinguished career as a musician serving 5 U.S. Presidents with the President’s Own, Marine Band. He ended his last 5 years of service with Army National Guard, retiring with 20 years of service.
Mr. Jenkins is also survived by Son, Stephen F. (Sarah) Jenkins of Warrenton, VA; Grandchildren, Savannah Leigh and Tyler Joe; Sister, Anna (Dr. Peter) Sim of Williamsburg, VA; StepSon, Joseph R. (Kristin) Williamson of Glenmoore, PA; and Step-Grandchildren, Aiden Joseph Williamson and Hannah Grace Williamson.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348 from 1 to 4 pm.
