J.P. Mascaro & Sons awarded recycling contract
EXETER » J. P. Mascaro & Sons’ TotalRecycle facility in Exeter, Berks County has been awarded a large, multi-year Recyclables Processing and Marketing Contract for Chester County’s 52 municipalities.
The new contract requires Mascaro’s TotalRecycle facility to provide a minimum of 26 million pounds of recyclables capacity annually for Chester County municipalities, according to a news release.
The facility already processes and markets a large volume of recyclables from municipalities in Montgomery, Bucks, Berks and Lehigh counties. In 2017, the TotalRecycle facility received more than 160 million pounds of recyclables for processing from Pennsylvania municipalities and other customers.
Under the new contract, recyclables from participating Chester County municipalities will be delivered to Mascaro’s 85,000 square foot, fully-automated TotalRecycle facility, where they will be processed and marketed to end-users.
“We are excited about adding Chester County communities to our growing list of recycling customers,” Joseph P. Mascaro, Mascaro’s director of sustainability and general manager of the TotalRecycle facility said in the release. “Mascaro and TotalRecycle are committed to remaining at the forefront of waste recycling and reuse, as evidenced by our TotalRecycle facility, and we will continue to strive to improve our facility systems and product quality control, as well as our enduse recyclables markets in both the United States and abroad.”
