DOWNINGTOWN >> Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) between Hall Road and Skelp Level Road in East Bradford and West Bradford townships, on Monday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for excavation operations to replace the bridge carrying U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) over the east branch of Brandywine Creek.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This project was driven by the need to replace the existing steel beam bridge that was built in 1929 and is currently listed in poor condition.

PennDOT’s contractor will construct a new two-span, concrete beam structure downstream of the existing crossing on a new alignment extending from the intersection of U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) and Sugars Bridge Road to the intersection of U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) and Skelp Level Road.

Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Pa. is the general contractor on the $5.8 million project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

The entire project is expected to be completed in spring of 2020. (Day: 0-6) (Day: 6-1-0) (Day: 0-6-3-1) (Day: 9-7-8-7)
