Two arrested after robbery at West Goshen Acme
WEST GOSHEN >> A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery Nov. 29 at the Acme supermarket on Paoli Pike in West Goshen.
Arrested were Herman Villafane and Kristen Pacropis, both of West Chester.
Police said that Villafane attempted to leave the Acme with a cart full of unpaid items valued at more than $2,000. After being confronted by a store employee, Villafane struck the employee in the head and fled on foot, police said.
Villafane was picked up outside of the Acme by Pacropis. The pair headed west on Paoli Pike toward West Chester. A short time later, Villafane and Pacropis were taken into custody by West Chester police at the Giant supermarket, located along Route 322.
Villafane and Pacropis were taken to West Goshen Township police station and charged with multiple offenses. Pacropis was charged with retail theft and conspiracy and released after posting $10,000 bail, but Villafane was charged with robbery, retail theft, and simple assault, and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bail.

Southern Chester County Regional DRUG CHARGES
Jordan A. Jenkins, 22, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act, as well as with several traffic offenses, after he was found to be in possession of marijuana following a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Nov. 16, police said. The incident happened 11:32 p.m., in the 1300 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township.
DUI
Daniel Moore, 55, of Landenberg, was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop for a stop sign violation. The Nov. 16 incident happened at 9:12 p.m., at the intersection of Newark Road and Landenberg Road, in New Garden Township. Police said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. Moore was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and was given an opportunity to submit to a chemical test of his breath but he refused, police said.
BURGLARY
Daisy Mae Perez, 22, of Wilmington, was charged with burglary, theft, and related offenses, in connection with a residential burglary that occurred between Oct. 15 and 19 in the 2000 block of Rosemont Drive, in New Garden Township. Police said information was developed that led investigators to the residence of Perez and with the assistance of Wilming-
ton Police, a search warrant was executed and evidence connected to the burglary was recovered. Wilmington Police charged Perez both as a fugitive from justice and with local charges of receiving stolen property, the report said. Perez was arraigned in Delaware and was incarcerated in lieu of posting bail. A detainer was lodged by the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and extradition is pending. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI
Austin D. Groff, 29, of Ephrata, was arrested and charged with DUI, scattering rubbish, and various traffic offenses after he was stopped for a moving violation and for discarding a cigarette from the vehicle. The incident occurred on Nov. 11 at 2:47 a.m., in the 100 block of Bancroft Road, in New Garden Township. Police said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. Groff was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol
level of 0.143 percent.
Kennett Square THEFT
An employee at State and Union, a store located at 103 West State Street, reported that a wallet was stolen but recovered upon confrontation of the offender on Nov. 27. Detectives investigated and determined the identity of the offender who was identified in a photo lineup by the employee.
WARRANT
A warrant was issued for felony retail theft for Mark Shorts. He was taken into custody on Dec. 3 without incident.
DUI
On Nov. 23, at 10:32 p.m., Maria Lucey was arrested for suspicion of DUI after an officer conducted a traffic stop for traffic-related offenses. A chemical test of her breath was taken, resulting in a B.A.C. of .137 percent. Lucey was subsequently released pending the issuance of a summons on the related charges.
INVASION OF PRIVACY
On April 13, a female juvenile from the Kennett area reported she was being threatened and received nude images of a juvenile male from an anonymous
source via SnapChat. On April 14, the same victim reported receiving continued threats and harassment from the same user. After an investigation by police, authorities were able to preserve and obtain the content of those SnapChat communications and subsequently obtain the identity of the account holder via his IP address and other identifying factors.
FAILING TO APPEAR
Jeffery Freeman is currently wanted after failing to appear in court for theft charges from an investigation in the 100 Block of Race Street in Kennett Square on April 9.
SEX ASSAULT ON CHILD
An arrest warrant was issued to Juan Carlos Lopez-Leon after an investigation by police determined he was responsible for the sexual assault of a child on Feb. 13. Police are continuing this investigation.
FAILING TO APPEAR
Felipe Cruz-Flores is currently wanted for failing to appear in court for charges related to retail theft and fleeing from police during an investigation at a business in the 400 block of East South Street on June 18, 2012.
