Unionville wins in OT at Octorara

Former league foes, Unionville and Octorara met in a boys basketball clash on Monday, and the Indians prevailed 51-45 in overtime. Unionville outscored the Braves 8-2 in the extra session, and Wyatt Hockenberr­y scored four of his team-high 12 in the OT for the Indians. Naji Hamilton and Alex Lantz scored 13 and 10 points, respective­ly, for Octorara. PHELPS 52, EPISCOPAL 51 >> Trailing by three heading into the finla period, the Lions outscored Episcopal 17-13 to eek out a non-league victory. Ronnie Ellis led the way with 21 points. Justin Anderson and Malik Slay chipped in 16 and 10 points, respective­ly, for Phelps. DEVON PREP 51, BISHOP SHANAHAN 41 >> The Tide topped the Eagles in a non-conference clash. Nick Crowe scored 20 and Eamonn Walsh chipped in 11 for Devon Prep. Joe O’Malley had a game-high 22 for Shanahan.

CHURCH FARM 49, DELCO CHRISTIAN 33 >> Max Scott and Demetrius Lilley had 20 points each as the Griffins won its Bicentenni­al League opener and stayed perfect on the year at 3-0.

Wrestling

WESTTOWN 57, ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 24 >> In non-league action, the Moose nearly doubled up on Carroll. Westtown won eight consecutiv­e bouts to pull away after dropping three of the first five. Wilson Cano (160), Charlie Herlochen (138) and Griffin Hankin (126) each had pins to pace Westtown. FAITH ACADEMY 57, COATESVILL­E 24>> The Red Raiders raced to an 18-0 lead but then dropped the next nine bouts to drop this nonleague clash. Nathan Lucier (113),

Brennan McBride (120) and Malik Lavalis (126) were the early victors for Coatesvill­e.

GREAT VALLEY 36, PHOENIXVIL­LE 31>> Tyler Humphreys, Tim Dyer, Charlie Sita, Casey Capetola, Keefe Thornton, Jack Semar and Ethan Seeley all won bouts to lead the Patriots to a tight victory over the Phantoms.

WESTTOWN 70, ACADEMY OF THE NEW CHURCH 26 >> In Friends School League action, Westtown raced out to a 28-14 halftime lead and went on to clobber ANC. Emily Ellis poured in 18 points to lead all scorers for Westtown (5-1 overall). KENNETT 58, WEST CHESTER EAST 45>> The Blue Demons lead from start to finish against the Vikings. Ellie Matthews and Andrea Prestianne combined to score 35 to lead Kennett (2-1). Marissa McDonald (18 points) and Mackenzie Richardson (12) were the scoring

leaders for East (1-1 overall). WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 34, PENN

WOOD 33 >> The Golden Knights trailed by three heading into the final period but outscored Penn Wood 14-10 to eek out a one-point triumph. Grace Plona scored 10 points to lead Rustin. UNIONVILLE 56, DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 23 >> The Indians’ Lindsey Robbins scored nine of her teambest 13 points in the fourth quarter as Unionville outscored the Whippets 20-2 to close out the win. Julie Marrone had 10 points for West. PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 51, DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 37 >> The Cougars fell behind by a dozen at the half and never recovered in non-conference competitio­n. Bella Smuda had 16 for East but nobody else reached double figures in scoring.

COATESVILL­E 98, INTERBORO 48 >> The Red Raiders’ Sean Wolstenhol­me (200, 500 freestyle), Ethan Vannoy (200 IM, 100 breaststro­ke), Jacob Vannoy (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) and Ethan Moore (50, 100 freestyle) were all multi-time individual winners as Coatesvill­e prevailed in a nonleague clash against the Bucs. Moore achieved auto-District 1 qualifying times in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

Girls Swimming

COATESVILL­E 96, INTERBORO 42 >> Kayla Bock (200 freestyle), Lauren DiCamillo (50 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Jordyn DiCamillo (200 IM), Mackenzie Yosko (100 butterfly), Lauren Wolstenhol­me (100 freestyle), Francesca Sciarretta (500 freestyle), Peyton Wolf (100 breaststro­ke) and Sydney Schroeder (diving) were all individual winners for the Red Raiders (1-0). Schroeder qualified for districts with a diving score of 234.15.
