Miles, Coatesville shine during meet at Lehigh

Coatesville’s Porsha Miles finished first in the 300 meters with a time of 41.27 and the 4x200 relay team of Miles, Sammie Miller, Patty Rokins and Kaia Morse (1:48.95) also finished first in a strong Friday night showing at the Delaware Valley Girls Track Coaches meet at Lehigh University.

Miller finished fourth in the 600 meters (1:43.39), while in the shot put, Olivia Ellzy was second (36-6) and Darby Morgan was fourth (36-1).

Boys Basketball

WESTTOWN 74, ROCKTOP ACADEMY 60 >> The Moose got 24 points from Jalen Gaffney in a convincing non-league victory. Jalen Warley (14 pts), T.J. Berger (11) and Franck Kepnang (11) also contributed for Westtown.

Girls Basketball

WESTTOWN 84, AGNES IRWIN 49 >> Amaya Douglas poured in 22 points to help Westtown (6-1 overall) win a non-conference win. Westtown – who led 23-5 after one quarter – also got 12 points from Emma Diaz and 10 from JoJo Lacey.

Wrestling

GREAT VALLEY 57, UPPER MERION 27 >> Seven pins and a decision helped the Patriots roll in a nonleague match against Pioneer Athletic Conference foe Upper Merion. Jack Semar, Jake Snyder, Andrew DiSanto, Ethan Seeley, Luke Sita, Keefe Thornton and Ryan Greiser all recorded pins, while Casey Capetola won a 9-5 decision at 126 pounds.

Boys Swimming

PHOENIXVILLE 92, GREAT VALLEY 78 >> The Phantoms topped the Patriots in non-league action. Tommy Boerger was a two-time winner (200 IM, and 500 freestyle) and was the anchor of the winning 200 freestylw relay. AVON GROVE 73, OXFORD 55 >> Aaron Tupper won the 50 and 100 freestyle to pace the Red Devils. Michael Fazio took firsts in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Hornets.

Girls Swimming

PHOENIXVILLE 100, GREAT VALLEY 70 >> Peyton Turner was an individual winning in the 200 and 500 freestyle but it wasn’t enough for the Patriots. Mac Sullivan (50 freestyle) and Allyssa Utecht (100 butterfly) were also winners for Great Valley. AVON GROVE 140, OXFORD 46 >> The Devils cruised to the win thanks to multiple wins from Sydney Paglia (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Izzy Paoletti (100 backstroke, 100 freestyle) and Rabea Pfaff (500 freestyle, 10 breaststroke).
