George Mitchell Haughton, Jr., 62 of West Chester, PA, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at his residence in West Chester after a short illness.

Born February 27, 1956, in West Chester, PA., he was the son of the late George Mitchell Haughton, Sr. and the late Helen Polivka Haughton.

George was the Choir Director for 36 years at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Exton. He also worked for Chapman Windows in West Chester as a sales consultant. George participat­ed in Lukens Band, West Chester Band, Forty Niners Chorus and various other musical groups.

He is survived by his brother, James E. Haughton (Nancy) of West Chester; his sister, Nancy Pflasterer (Jay) of Ann Arbor, MI; seven nieces and nephews: Jennifer Schierkolk (Brent), Kathryn Pflasterer, Rick Pflasterer, Andrew Haughton (Emma), Kathleen Haughton, Daniel Haughton, Julia Haughton and great niece Poppy James Haughton.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation with family on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a Celebratio­n of Life Service to follow at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 101 Worthingto­n Rd. Exton, PA 19341.

Interment will be at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to St Paul’s UCC Music Ministry at the above address or Lukens Band c/o Michael Givler, Treasurer, 279 Hurley Rd. Coatesvill­e, PA 19320.
