Dinniman announces $150,000 for technical career programs
WEST CHESTER >> State Senator Andy Dinniman announced today that the Chester County Workforce Development Board will receive $150,000 in state funding for programs to prepare students for in-demand technical careers.
“Engaging students early on and encouraging them to channel their talents, interests, and inspirations exploring and preparing for potential careers is key to putting them on the right track for a lifetime of success, prosperity and professional growth,” Dinniman, who serves minority chair of the Senate Education Committee, said. “These funds and programs can go a long way in that connecting students with technical careers.”
The funding, which comes through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s Business Education Partnership Program, will be used to drive programs that connect students in local school districts, colleges, and the Chester County Intermediate Unit with employers and regional chambers of commerce.
These innovative and inspiring activities, workshops, and programs aim to increase career awareness and readiness of indemand technical career pathways to 1,200 Chester County students.
