Donna P. (Shaver) Vermilyea

Donna P. (Shaver) Vermilyea, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Friday, January 11th, 2019 at the age of 72. She passed peacefully with family at her side.

Donna was born and raised in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. She met her husband John and they moved to Mansfield, PA where they lived for three years before returning to Coatesville to raise their three children in the West End.

In addition to her own children, Donna helped raise and care for many others through her work in private childcare and 26 years of work at Kindercare Learning Center. Donna was a natural caregiver and treated everyone’s children as her own.

Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was the best Mom-mom they could have ever asked for. Donna loved St. Bernards, country music, and the color blue.

Donna is preceded in death by her mother and father, Yolanda and Fred Shaver, and her son-in-law, Paul Major. Donna will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, John; daughter Dania Bandas and her husband Stefan; daughter Brooke Major; son Sean Vermilyea and his wife Melanie; sister Linda Fregede; brother George Shaver and his wife Kacki; grandchildren Taylor, Nikolai, Paisley, Lennon, Austin, Megan, and Aidan; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 19th at Ruffini’s Pronto Bistro, 43 N Bailey Rd, Thorndale, PA.
