Phelps runs away from Hun School

Senior guards Justin Anderson and Nedas Nacickas combined to score 50 points to lead the Phelps School boys’ basketball squad to a 75-58 non-league victory over the Hun School on Monday. The Lions led 23-14 after one quarter and 43-27 at the half. Anderson finished with 26 points and Nacickas had 24. Girls Basketball DOWNINGTOWN WEST 38, OXFORD 32 >> The Whippets went 16-19 from the FT line in their wire to wire win over the Hornets. West led 24-10 at the half and were led by Shayla Johnson’s 13 points. Cristina Fernandez paced Oxford with 12 points.

Boys Diving

INTER-AC LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS >> Malvern placed four in the top seven of the Inter-Ac Diving Championships, with Nick Harris taking home the title with a score of 319.85. Trevor Henderson was fourth (230.6) followed by Marshall Beckett in fifth (224.5) and Danny Faunce in seventh (204.55).

Boys Swimming

SUN VALLEY 95, BISHOP SHANAHAN 89>> Nicholas Scott won twice (200 IM, 100 butterfly), and Jack Fidanza (200 freestyle), Jeremy Brown (500 freestyle), Noal Doherty (100 backstroke), Michael Ferraccio (100 butterfly) and Patrick Taylor (50 freestyle) each captured individual wins, but it wasn’t enough as the Vanguards nipped the Eagles in Ches-Mont action.

Girls Swimming

BISHOP SHANAHAN 92, SUN VALLEY 90 >> The Eagles edged the Vanguards thanks to wins from sisters Mia and Lila Ceribelli in the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle, respectively. Isabelle Kane (200 freestyle) and Kate Eckert (100 breststroke) added wins for Shanahan.
