Harvey W. Matlack Jr.

Harvey W. Matlack, Jr. went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2019. He was surrounded by loving family and friends during his short battle with cancer.

Harvey was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy E. (Rissling) Matlack, with whom he shared 62 cherished years.

Harvey was born on July 20, 1934 in West Chester, PA. He was the son of the late Harvey W. Matlack, Sr. and Dorothy (Reed) Matlack. Harvey is a graduate of Tredyffrin Easttown High School and attended Drexel University. In his professional career, Harvey was self-employed as a sales representative with Matlack Associates. Harvey was devoted to his church, First Baptist Church of Malvern, where he served as a trustee and deacon for many years. Harvey’s love and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was displayed through years of serving his church and community through volunteering and helping others.

Harvey absolutely loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and proudly shared stories about his family. He cherished the memories made with family at their vacation home on the Chesapeake Bay.

Harvey and Dorothy are survived by three children; William H. Matlack (Kim), Carol M. Aubert (James), and Randolph H. Matlack (pre-deceased by Krystyna). He is survived by seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; Maura Matlack, Jennifer Buckley (Patrick), Ryan Matlack (Kristen), Christine Morris (Peter), Amy Schneider (Dane), Kelsey Aubert, Alyssa Matlack, Kelsey Preston and Tyler Preston. He also adored his seven great-grandchildren; Sarah, Madeleine, Sean, Nathan, Liam, Levi, and Jacob.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February, 4 at the First Baptist Church of Malvern. The family is extremely grateful for the exceptional care and attention that Harvey received at Tel Hai Retirement Community as well as through Compassus Hospice Care during his final days.
