Ruth K. Peters, formerly of Hollidaysburg
Ruth K. (Wohlin) Peters, 87, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Exton, after an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late William Frederick and Ruth C. (Brock) Keller. Spouses: the late, P. Fredrik Wohlin (divorced. 1981) In 1988, she married John C. Peters in West Chester. He preceded her in death in 2014. Surviving are three daughters: Fatimah Abdullah (Judy Wohlin) and husband, Hasan of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara Clarke and husband Steven, Nancy Craven, and husband George of West Chester; a stepson, John C. Peters Jr. of Altoona; two stepdaughters: Karen L. Hecht and husband, Mark, of North East, and Linda Avers and husband, Marc, of Burke, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Anna Garofalo of Penn Hills. Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Franklin Regional High School and a 1952 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. She retired in April 1988 as a registered nurse from Chester County Hospital in West Chester, after 11 years of service. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, West Chester, PA (1967-1988) and Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg.
