WESTTOWN >> A lot of people become famous by making their creative thoughts come to life.

The students at Ss. Simon and Jude School have countless opportunities to develop their own sense of creativity, according to second-grade teacher Briana Zembruski. She assigned her students to research creative people who are famous for different reasons.

“My students love being creative in every subject area,” Zembruski said. “Whether they make fun math displays or practice new styles in art, they love any chance to make work their own.”

She said the current reading unit emphasizes creativity and her students love being creative. The second grade recently completed a Creative Person Project in which they each researched a creative person and designed a display to show what they learned.

“Their designs were amazing and definitely creative,” Zembruski said. “Some of them chose to learn more about creative artists, famous inventors, and well-known authors.”

At the conclusion of their project, she asked her students to write their favorite fact about the creative person they researched, and submit that to the Daily Local News.

“I hope that the children in my class maintain their creative nature,” Zembruski said. “Children have such vivid imagination, and at Ss. Simon and Jude, the students build skills to foster creativity in every subject.”
