24 students inducted into the National Honor Society

DOWNINGTOWN >> A total of 24 cyber school students were inducted into the National Honor Society at an induction ceremony held at St. Anthony’s Restaurant.

The 24 students who attend the 21st Century Cyber Charter School based in Downingtown Borough were supported by nearly 100 attendees including their classmates, family members and faculty. The 24 new members were inducted to NHS/NJHS from the Eastern PA region.

“What a privilege and blessing it is to be part of NHS and I proudly and gladly welcome you, as new NHS members, with open arms,” said Molly McCleery, 21CCC’s NHS president. “You too get the amazing opportunity to be shaped and molded in your character from the experiences and service opportunities that come from NHS.”

The inductees are selected based on their academic standing, community service, and leadership roles.

“Character is one of the strong pillars that define what National Honor Society is all about, but in a way it is kind of like the foundation,” McCleery said. “If it weren’t for a selfless character, we wouldn’t have the desire to serve. If it weren’t for a determined character we wouldn’t have a strong scholarship pillar. Last but not least, if it weren’t for a good character we wouldn’t have strong leaders in the world. It all ties back to character, and it is our character that defines what National Honor Society means to us. It is our character that decides what we want to do in the world.”

The 21st Century Cyber Charter School, which recently opened a satellite location in Pittsburgh, is a non-profit cyber charter school for students in grades six through twelfth. The 21st Century Cyber Charter School aims to provide students with a unique and valuable curriculum that ensures students will be challenged and excel overall, in and out of the classroom.

“Cherish this time in National honor society, because the world needs you each, today,” McCleery said. “They need your strong characters and outstanding personalities.”
