-

Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.

The work schedule and locations in Chester County:

•Sunday, July 28, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 82 (Manor Road) between Hibernia Road and Chestnut Street in West Nantmeal and West Brandywine townships and Elverson Borough for paving operations;

•Sunday, July 28, and Monday, July 29, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., a single lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Church Street) at the intersection of Route 372 (1st Avenue) in Parkersburg Borough for milling and paving operations; and

•Wednesday, July 31, through Friday, August 2, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for milling operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
