WILMINGTON, DEL. >> Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant announced Tuesday that it will open its first full-scale production brewery near Exton, Chester County.

The brewery and restaurant, which will be known Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse, will be located at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard, 240 Eagleview Blvd., Uwchlan Township. It is expected to open in summer 2020.

Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse will allow Iron Hill to increase its overall brewing capacity as it continues to expand its restaurant locations and bring canning operations in-house. It will also serve as an innovation kitchen for future companywide menu offerings, company officials said.

“Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse is the next logical step in our expansion efforts to make sure we are staying true to our commitment of serving the freshest beer, maintaining our high standards and encouraging our brewers to experiment all the while giving our customers even more reason to keep coming back to their favorite Iron Hill,” CEO Kim Boerema said in a news release. “We are very excited to enter into this new venture and we look forward to continuing to serve our loyal fanbase in this new capacity.”

The brewery will initially have the capability to produce 6,000 barrels of beer annually, and it

will eventually expand to 20,000 barrels.

The site, at more than 18,000 square feet, will house a 10,000-square-foot brewery while the taproom will occupy 4,500 square feet and share the training room for use as a private dining room with approximately 150 seats.

The taphouse will feature both signature and seasonal beers as well as a menu unique to the location. In keeping with Iron Hill’s philosophy of offering fresh and innovative items directly from the tap to the table, it will offer casual, elevated pub fare, with a continued focus on craft beer production and pairings, the company said. Boulder, Colo.-based Bray Architecture will design the brewery and taphouse.

Iron Hill was founded in Newark, Del., in 1996. It now has 16 locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and South Carolina.

The latest location is part of the company’s 20 by 20 expansion goals, in which Iron Hill plans to have 20 operating locations by the close of 2020.
