Jared Kimbrough sank a pair of free throws late in the game that put his team on top for good as La Salle narrowly beat Saint Joseph’s 78-77 in a regular season finale on Saturday.

The Explorers (15-15, 6-12 Atlantic 10) trailed by one when Kimbrough was fouled and hit both of his free throws with 16 seconds left to give La Salle the winning edge.

Ayinde Hikim had 15 points to lead six La Salle players in double figures. Haverford School AllDelco Christian Ray added 13 points for the Explorers. Kimbrough chipped in 11, David Beatty Isiah Deas 11 each. Ray also had 11 rebounds, while Kimbrough posted eight rebounds.

Archbishop Carroll All-Delco Ryan Daly had 25 points for the Hawks (6-25, 2-16). Rahmir Moore added 12 points. Cameron Brown had 11 points.

AJ Brodeur registered a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lift Penn (16-11, 8-6 Ivy L:eague) to a win over Columbia (6-24, 1-13).

Devon Goodman had 17 points for Penn. Ryan Betley added 16 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Dingle had 14 points.

Camren Wynter scored 18 points and eighth-seeded Drexel (14-18) beat No. 9 UNC Wilmington (1121) in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Associatio­n tournament.

The Dragons face No. 1 Hofstra in Sunday’s quarterfin­als.

Zach Walton scored 12 points with six rebounds and James Butler had seven points and 13 rebounds for Drexel. Mate Okros hit 3 of 4 3-pointers for nine points.

Marten Linssen scored 18 points with nine rebounds for the Seahawks (11-21). Ty Gadsden added 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
