No-Contact Food ‘Drive’ set for May 30

PHOENIXVILLE » Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) will host a nocontact Food “Drive” on Saturday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Individuals can donate non-perishable items by driving up to the PACS loading zone on Church Street and opening the trunk of their cars. PACS’ staff and volunteers will unload the donations following social distancing guidelines.

“We would normally receive many non-perishable items though the letter carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger campaign. However, that food drive was cancelled due to COVID-19,” says Executive Director Mary Fuller. “We hope our food drive gives people the opportunity to still help the community in a safe, socially responsible way.”

Appointments to receive food from PACS have tripled since the onset of the pandemic. As a result, there is a large need for donations. To help, simply drive to PACS at 257 Church Street on May 30th (12 p.m.-3 p.m.) with your donation. The Food “Drive” is a rain or shine event.

Urgently needed donations include:

• Canned Pasta Pasta Sauce Pancake Mix

• Mac and Cheese Salt/ Pepper Cheese Juice/juice mixes

• Condiments Snack foods Cooking Oil/Butter/Margarine

• Jelly/jam Canned Meat Syrup

• Rice Soup (not condensed) Baking Mixes (w/ icing as needed)

No foods past the expiration date or previously opened.
