Police seek man who stole jewelry from Exton Walmart

EXTON » The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigat­ing a retail theft that occurred at the Walmart store, located in Main Street at Exton in West Whiteland Township on June 7.

Police said a man entered the store, broke into a jewelry case and took $2,588 worth of jewelry. The man then left the store without paying for the items. He was picked up in a silver sedan in the parking lot, according to surveillan­ce footage obtained by police.

Anyone who may be able to identify the individual or vehicle in this case is asked to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department Criminal Investigat­ions Division.

Theft from motor vehicles

Police are investigat­ing multiple thefts from motor vehicles that occurred in the overnight hours of June 12 and June 13 between approximat­ely midnight and 1:30 am. The suspect is a man wearing a white t shirt and grey sweat pants.. Area residents in the vicinity of D Street and South Washington Street are requested to check their home surveillan­ce systems for the described individual during this time period. Contact police if you believe you have informatio­n or surveillan­ce footage relative to this investigat­ion. Drug charges Adrian Rosado-Serrano, 22, of Kennett Square was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act64), after he was found to be in possession of marijuana, following a report in reference to a suspicious condition. The incident occurred on April 21, 2020 at approximat­ely 3:05 a.m. in the area of Juniper Street and Church Alley, Kennett Square Borough. Charges of possession of marijuana and loitering and prowling at night time were filed.

West Whiteland

Credit card theft The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigat­ing the alleged theft of a credit card at the Ross store. The victim accidental­ly left her card in the point of sale machine. Another customer allegedly made a purchase with the credit card. Anyone having any informatio­n is asked to contact Ofc. Kennett Township

Bad check The Kennett Township Police Department holds an active arrest warrant for Adam J. Croce, 49, of Philadelph­ia, PA. On

April 27, 2020, the Kennett Township Police Department received a report from a township resident, who discovered that a check, he mailed on April 19, did not reach its intended recipient. Rather, the check was cashed at a bank in Philadelph­ia on April 20. Through further investigat­ion and assistance by the Kennett Square Police Department and U.S. Postal Inspectors, Adam J. Croce was identified and charged. Knife attack On May 7, 2020, at 21:30 hours, the Kennett Township Police Department responded to a disturbanc­e in the 100 block of Chandler Mill Road. Upon arrival, Officers located a 46-year-old man who suffered multiple knife laceration­s. Officers rendered first aid and determined that the victim had been asleep in his dormitory room when an unknown subject forced open his door and attacked him with a knife, before fleeing the scene. Through further investigat­ion, the man was identified as Martin Santos Ibanez Cortez. A warrant was issued for Ibanez Cortez, who was located and taken into custody.

Southern Chester County Regional

DUI Rogelio Calihua-Tehuintle, 33, of Kennett Square, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, following an accident. The incident occurred on Friday June 5, 2020 at 7:01 p.m., in the area of Baltimore Pike and Chambers Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Calihua-Tehuintle, police observed indicators suggesting intoxicati­on. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and consented to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a B.A.C. of .149 percent. He was later released pending issuance of a summons. Assault Larry W. Tucker, 37, of Avondale, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct,

and Harassment following a domestic disturbanc­e. The incident occurred on Sunday June 7, 2020 at approx. 5:38 pm, in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike, in New Garden Township. The victim told police she had been assaulted by Tucker numerous times over the prior two days. She had visible bruising to her arms, shoulder, and torso, as well as a bite mark on the arm. Tucker was taken into custody after returning home at approx. 7:30 p.m. He was transporte­d to Chester County Prison for processing and arraignmen­t. He was committed to prison after failing to post bail.

West Whiteland

Vehicle break-ins West Whiteland police are investigat­ing several vehicle breaks-ins recently:

• Officers are investigat­ing the theft from a parked and unattended vehicle in the 200 block of South Pottstown Pike. Unknown persons broke a window to gain access into the vehicle and remove property.

• Officers are investigat­ing a theft from a parked vehicle in the 300 block of Clover Mill Road. Anyone with informatio­n regarding this, or any other recent theft, is urged to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department.

• Officers are investigat­ing the theft from a vehicle along Church Farm Lane. Unknown persons broke a window to a parked car and removed items from within the vehicle.

• Officers received a complaint a vehicle break-in at the parking lot for the Chester Valley Trailhead at Exton Park. Unknown persons broke a car window and removed property from within the vehicle.

• Officers are investigat­ing the theft of catalytic converters from parked and unattended vehicles in the 400 block of Clover Mill Road.
