Downingtow­n man, 33, arrested in rape of child

KENNETT SQUARE » A Downingtow­n man was arrested and charged with rape of a minor child.

Marco Martinez- Garcia, 33, of Downingtow­n, was arrested and charged with rape, involuntar­y deviate sexual intercours­e, aggravated indecent assault of a child and related charges, police said.

He was arrested on Nov. 9, 2020 at approximat­ely 2: 09 p. m., according to police. These charges are the result of an investigat­ion conducted by the Kennett Square Police Criminal Investigat­ion Division involving Martinez- Garcia having inappropri­ate contact with a minor child. Marco Martinez-Garcia was transporte­d to Central Booking at Chester County Prison where he was later arraigned and remanded to the prison after failing to post bail, which was set at $ 1 million cash.

Harassment On July 9, 2020, the victim reported to West Chester Police that his ex- wife would not stop calling and texting him. As a result, Theresa Vacca was issued a non- traffic citation for summary Harassment. Vacca requested a hearing, and at the hearing, Vacca was found guilty of the Harassment charge. As a result of the guilty verdict, Vacca was told not to contact her ex- husband. On Oct. 10 2020 and Oct. 25 2020, Vacca again intentiona­lly contacted the victim, police said. As a result of these two contacts, Vacca was charged with stalking. Domestic dispute On Nov. 12, 2020 at 1: 15 a. m., West Chester Police responded to the 200 block W Marshall Street for a domestic dispute. As a result of the incident Keith Foote, 32 from West Chester, was arrested for simple assault and harassment. Foote was processed and transporte­d to Chester County Prison for arraignmen­t. Trespassin­g On Nov. 9 at approximat­ely 5: 30 a. m., West Chester Police responded to the 100 block of South Worthingto­n Street for a man being at a property that he had been advised not to return to or he would be arrested. On Nov. 12 at approximat­ely 1: 30 a. m., West Chester Police were again dispatched to 100 block of S Worthingto­n St for the same subject, Freddrick Whitlock, being at the residence. As a result of the incident Freddrick Whitlock, 49 from West Chester, was taken into custody for trespassin­g. Whitlock was processed and transporte­d to Chester County Prison for arraignmen­t.

Endangerin­g children Mario Perez- Ramos, 41, of Lincoln University, was arrested and charged with Endangerin­g Welfare of Children, DUI, and related traffic offenses, following a call for an intoxicate­d subject attempting to buy alcohol. The incident occurred on Sunday Nov. 8, 2020 at 3: 29 p. m., in the 300 block of Scarlett Road, in New Garden Township. Perez- Ramos arrived to pick up the subject, accompanie­d by a minor child in his vehicle, and was observed displaying indicators of intoxicati­on. Perez- Ramos was unable to perform field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. He agreed to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a B. A. C. of .195 percent. He was transporte­d to the Chester County Prison for processing and arraignmen­t. He was committed after failing to post bail. Assault Kathryn E. Hoogerwerf­f, 37, of Avondale, was arrested and charged with DUI, Recklessly Endangerin­g Another Person, Simple Assault, and related traffic offenses, following a multi motor vehicle accident with entrapment. The incident occurred on Saturday Nov. 7, 2020 at 9: 40 p. m., in the area of Gap Newport Pike and Penn Green Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Hoogerwerf­f, police observed indicators suggesting intoxicati­on and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Hoogerwerf­f agreed to a chemical test of her breath, resulting in a B. A. C. of .287 percent. She was released pending issuance of a summons.
