NEW GARDEN » A 70-yearold Avondale woman was arrested after she attempted to stab a man with a knife.

Carol C. Tucker was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, possessing instrument­s of crime, recklessly endangerin­g another person, and terroristi­c threats, following a call for a domestic disturbanc­e.

The crime occurred on Tuesday Jan. 12, 2021 at 10:46 a.m., in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike, in New Garden Township. The victim told police that Tucker had come at him with a knife. A witness also told police that Tucker stabbed at the victim multiple times and said she would “stab him.”

Tucker was taken into custody and transporte­d to the Chester County Prison for processing and arraignmen­t. She was committed to prison after failing to post bail.

BURGLARY » John Ross, 52, of Springfiel­d, was arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass and other related offenses after he was caught entering a vacant home of a recently deceased resident. Multiple items were located on Ross which were identified as items belonging to the homeowner, including two pieces of mail which contained PIN numbers to the deceased’s bank accounts. This incident occurred on Jan. 11, 2021 at, 2:40 p.m. in the 200 Block of South Garfield Street, Kennett Square Borough. Ross was transporte­d to Chester County Prison. ASSAULT » William Knox, 44, of Kennett Square was charged with simple assault and harassment, following an altercatio­n, during which he allegedly struck a female subject in the shin, with a tactical style flash light, causing a one inch laceration. The incident occurred on Dec. 31, 2020 at 8 p.m., in the 100 block of Magnolia Street, Kennett Square Borough. An arrest warrant was issued for William Knox after police attempted to make contact with him multiple times at his residence. Knox turned himself in and was arraigned on Jan. 3, 2021.

executing a search warrant at Sean Thomas Roscioli’s residence discovered firearms in his possession. Roscioli is not permitted to possess firearms due to an active Protection from Abuse Order. His preliminar­y hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18, 2021 at the Parkesburg District Court.

DRUG CHARGES » George F. Kelly, 34, of Newark Del., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after he was found to be in possession of suspected heroin, as well as other Schedule III and V controlled substances. The incident occurred on Monday Jan. 19, 2021 at 7:38 p.m., in the 1300 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Police arrived and were handed the items found on Kelly. Kelly was taken into custody and transporte­d to the Chester County Prison for processing and arraignmen­t. He was committed to prison after failing to post bail. ASSAULT WITH ROCKS » Sergio R. Icu, age 43 of Landenberg, was arrested and charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, following a call for a subject throwing rocks at people. The incident occurred on Monday Jan. 11, 2021 at 4:25 p.m., in the 100 block of Starr Road, in New Garden Township. Police arrived and spoke with two victims. Both stated Icu threw rocks at them and had been combative, police said. Two large rocks were found in the bathroom of the residence. Icu was taken into custody and transporte­d to the Chester County Prison for processing and arraignmen­t. He was released on bail.

BREAK-IN, VANDALISM » West Whiteland police are investigat­ing several recent break-ins and other crimes. Officers are investigat­ing an alleged theft from a ve

hicle parked at Exton Park. On Jan. 16, someone broke a window to a parked car and stole items from inside the car. Officers are also investigat­ing vandalism to a vehicle parked at the Exton Train Station. A vehicle window was reportedly broken on Jan. 16. Officers are investigat­ing a theft from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Mountainvi­ew Drive on Jan. 16 in which items were stolen from the vehicle. Anyone with informatio­n or surveillan­ce video should contact West Whiteland police.

Assault on police officer On Saturday, Jan. 16 2021 at 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to 501 W. Miner Street for a man on the front porch yelling and causing a disturbanc­e. He was identified as Nathaniel Hawthorne, 26, from West Chester. Hawthorne resisted officers and then kicked one of the officers, police said. Hawthorne was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on an officer, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, public drunkennes­s and other related charges. He was then remanded to Chester County Prison to await arraignmen­t. CAR STOLEN » On Jan. 11, 2021 at 11:45 p.m., West Chester Police responded to the 7-11, 200 South High Street, for a report of a vehicle that was stolen from the parking lot. Taken from the parking lot was a 2013 Blue Honda Accord bearing Pennsylvan­ia DARE tag DA515G. The vehicle was left running, but the key FOB was not in the vehicle. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact the West Chester Police. State police, Avondale RETAIL THEFT » David Rueda, 18, of Oxford, was arrested on retail theft charges. Police said Rueda pushed a shopping cart filled with almost $300 worth of merchandis­e through the automatic doors at the East Marlboroug­h WalMart on Jan. 4. He returned when asked by a loss prevention officer to sign some papers and was arrested.
