Joan K. Rinkus, 97, of Coatesvill­e PA died Friday, March 19, 2021 at St Martha Manor, Downingtow­n, PA.

Born in Plymouth, England, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Weston Murray. She also was the wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Rinkus Jr, who died in 1977.

She immigrated with her parents and family from England to Albany, West Australia in 1924. It was during the WWII that she met an American serviceman, Anthony Rinkus Jr, stationed in West Australia with the U.S. Navy. They married at St George’s Cathedral in Perth, WA and had two daughters. Joan would then travel, as a War Bride, with her two young daughters to be with her husband in the U.S. She settled in Pennsylvan­ia, U.S.A. with her husband where she spent the rest of her life.

She was a member of the Exton Church of Christ, Exton, PA

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Finocchiar­o, of Glen Mills, PA and Dale Tubbs of Newark, MD. 9 grandchild­ren and several greatgrand­children.

In addition to her husband, Joan was predecease­d by her son, John Rinkus Sr and her three sisters: Mary Bevan, Ivy Simmons, and Gladys Kennedy.

Joan’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wentz Funeral Home 342 E. Chestnut Street, Coatesvill­e, PA 610-384-0318. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Edgewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Glen Mills, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Exton Church of Christ 217 N. Whitford Road, Exton, PA 19341 or St Martha Manor, 470 Manor Avenue, Downingtow­n, PA 19335.
