Dorothy D. Bruno, 88 of West Chester, PA passed away Thursday April 22, 2021 at home in West Chester, PA.

She was the wife of the late Victor N. “Vit” Bruno, Sr.

Born October 16, 1932 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Carlo DiMarco and the late Vincenzia Piccone DiMarco.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of West Chester, PA and lifelong parishione­r of St. Agnes Church.

She graduated from West Chester High School, Class of 1951; which was the first graduating class from its present location on Montgomery Ave.

Dorothy was a homemaker who raised her three sons. She also spent 30 years working for the Archdioces­e of Philadelph­ia. First, she worked in the cafeteria at Bishop Shanahan High School, then as an Administra­tive Assistant at St Agnes Church. Dorothy was fortunate enough to work alongside of many dedicated and holy priests, including Bishop Edward M. Deliman and Archbishop Nelson J. Perez.

She was the first lay person to instruct wedding rehearsals at St. Agnes Church, with the assistance of her sister Dolly. Dorothy also served as a Eucharisti­c Minster during the Weekly Mass at Embreevill­e State Hospital.

Dorothy was an avid gardener and loved planting flowers and vegetables. Her family loved her Italian cooking and especially her Sunday sauce, served with spaghetti, meatballs and chicken as well as fresh salad from her garden.

She loved spending time with her grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren.

Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Victor N. Bruno, Jr., (Susan) of West Chester, PA, Steven M. Bruno of West Chester, PA and Mark A. Bruno (Tabatha) of West Chester, PA; grandchild­ren, Monica, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Matthew; greatgrand­children, Mason and Brooklyn; and sister, Mary Versagli of Kennett Square, PA.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Frank DiMarco, Donald DiMarco, Amelia “Dolly” Pizzi, and Charles M. DiMarco.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 9:30 am - 10:45 am at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380; followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA.
