Grace Eskridge Arnold

Grace Eskridge Arnold, 82, of Coatesvill­e, PA, passed peacefully with her family by her side at Freedom Village on the morning of June 17, 2021. Grace was born on October 8, 1938, to Eliza Jane and Samuel Ford Eskridge in Galestown, MD. She was a graduate of Laurel High School in Delaware, where she played basketball and participat­ed in the 4H Club.

After high school, Grace moved to Wilmington, DE, for nursing school and began her career as a Labor and Delivery Room Nurse at Memorial Hospital. Grace met her husband, Cleon on a boating date, and they were married in 1971.

Grace and Cleon lived in Coatesvill­e for 49 years where Cleon had several businesses over the years, including Arnold’s Car Wash. They built a cabin in Potter County where they spent winters snowmobili­ng with friends and family. They also

were avid boaters and docked their affectiona­tely named boat, ’Gra-Sea-A’, at McDaniel’s Yacht Basin in North East, MD, where they entertaine­d friends and family every spring through fall.

Grace is survived by her nieces and nephews: Christophe­r Noetzel (Kim), Amy Caricchio (Jeff ), Mary Beth Barnes (Ken), and Stephen Noetzel (Michele); her great nieces and nephews: Andrew Caricchio (Katie), Zachary Kerstetter, Reilly Noetzel (Cierra), Savanna Barnes, Logan Barnes, Ellis Noetzel, and Merrill Noetzel; and her great-great niece, Cornelia Noetzel. She was predecease­d by her husband, Cleon M Arnold, Jr.; and her sisters: Ruth Jane Eskridge (Poppiti), Laura Ann Eskridge, Maude Vesta Eskridge, and Rebecca Eskridge Noetzel.

A special thank you to Bruce and Kelly Worrell and their family, and Mary Alice Magown for their love, support, and companions­hip over the years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesvill­e. Family and friends may visit from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m..

Private interment will be in Grove Methodist Cemetery, West Chester.
