Houlahan tours LCH, praises local health care workers

-

KENNETT SQUARE » U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-6th of Easttown, this week toured LCH Health and Community Services and met with health care workers in their Kennett Square facility. This marks her third visit to LCH, but her first visit since the Jennersville and Brandywine hospitals closed, impacting the region’s health care landscape.

“Health care workers represent the best of our community’s values, and I’m incredibly grateful for the dedicated staff at LCH who continue to serve the people of southern Chester County,” said Houlahan. “But as I heard again today, COVID has taken its toll on our community health care partners and they need our ongoing support. That’s why I was proud to help pass the American Rescue Plan that delivered significant federal funding to LCH to keep their doors open. Federally accredited facilities like LCH serve a wide range of patients, including those covered by Medicare and Medicaid — not to mention they have a holistic approach to social services. At a time when quality, accessible health care is top of mind in our community and across the country, we are grateful to have their services.”

“LCH Health and Community Services is uniquely positioned to align resources and services to benefit the community here in Southern Chester County,” said Dr. Joseph Greco, Medical Director. “I am proud of our staff for meeting the challenge to focus on preventable chronic illness and to address mental health in the people that we serve. We continue to advocate with the belief that our patients are the most deserving recipients.”

“LCH serves a large and diverse population in Southern Chester County and plays an important role in addressing care disparities,” said Ronan W. Gannon, Chief Executive Officer. “I want to thank Representative Chrissy Houlahan for coming to LCH today to discuss these important issues as LCH continues to care for the needs of our entire patient population including those with Medicare and Medicaid.”

LCH Health and Community Services has three locations: Kennett Square, Oxford, and West Grove. They offer tele-health services and bilingual staff stand ready to assist patients should they need it.
