William “Billy” Donovan
William “Billy” Donovan, age 29, of Kennett Square, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2022. He attended Unionville High School, where he was a captain of both the Varsity Lacrosse and Varsity Ice Hockey teams. He skated at Chester County Skating Club, and played club lacrosse for Unionville Recreation Association and Dukes LLC.
He went on to attend Cornell University where he majored in Hotel Administration and graduated in 2015. He was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity and Varsity Sprint Football team, as well as the Club Lacrosse and Ice Hockey Teams.
Billy worked in various sectors of the Commercial Real Estate and Hospitality industry and had recently accepted a new position as Senior Analyst at Watermark Lodging Trust in Chicago, IL.
Billy was a bright and energetic individual who loved challenge and adventure. He enjoyed cooking, skiing, traveling, Western movies, a lively debate, and spending time with his family and friends, especially in his role as uncle.
Billy is preceded by his father, John, and survived by his mother Katy, his siblings Kaitlin (Christopher) Knauss, Amelia (Kyle) Burke, Annabeth (Tom) Davis, Daniel and Claire, his nieces Esmé and Adeline, and his nephews Benjamin, Jack, Tommy, George and Joseph.
You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday evening May 15, 2022 at the Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State St, Kennett Square, PA. His Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 16, 2022 at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rt 82, Kennett Square, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a scholarship in Billy’s memory at Chester County Skating Club. Contributions to this scholarship may be sent to: Chester County Skating Club, PO Box 216, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
